Laudete Dominum: Sacred Violin Hymns

Facts about the CD

  • This CD was fully recorded in the basement of the Woods home - our "recording studio!"  Effects were used to make it sound like it was recorded in a church.
  • All songs are in "Public Domain" - this means that they're no longer under copyright and free for creative use.
  • The recordings and arrangements on this CD, however, are copyrighted.
  • "Laudete Dominum" is Latin, and it means "Praise the Lord."
  • All photography from the CD casing and the CD label itself are by my mom, Margie Woods, taken on the pilgrimage she and my dad went on this summer to Italy and Medjugorje.
  • My sister Elizabeth Woods plays the piano accompaniment on every track of the CD.
  • Elizabeth also plays the Irish Whistle on Come Thou Font, and she sang all the vocal harmonies on Doxology!
  • The CD was duplicated and produced by Formats Unlimited, Inc., 'just around the corner' in Farmingdale, NY!
  • The album is available for download from iTunes, the Google Play Store, Amazon MP3, and CDBaby.com; for streaming from Spotify and the iHeartRadio app; and for physical purchase from CDBaby.com, along with many lesser-known options as well.
  • The best value is to get a copy directly from Chris!
  • The running time of the CD is about 35 minutes.
Praise God
         from whom all blessings flow;
    Praise Him,
         all creatures here below;
    Praise Him above,
         ye heav'nly host;
    Praise Father,
                Son
        and Holy Ghost!
                                Amen!
(From "Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow," called "Doxology" on this album)

Track Details & Previews

This information is here for you to learn more about these great songs and the people that wrote them!  When you hear some of the music on the CD, you might recognize the melody, but not connect it with the song name.  This is actually pretty common - so many of our songs in the church can easily be "swapped out" with different words or a different melody.  For example, the music for "Come Thou Font" is called "Nettleton," which is also used in the song "God We Praise You."
  1. Amazing Grace
    Music: "New Britain," published in 1829.
    Words: John Newton, 1779.
